Polycythemia Vera--Prognosis

Cite the most recent findings from studies that are much more encouraging than what is on the other older and ill-informed sites: such as Spivak "none of our patients in the last two decades has had a stroke or blood clot." Current research shows that with proper care people with PV are expected to live a normal lifespan, probably dieing from causes other than PV. Explain where the dangers lie:
T
hormbrosis in the first few years
Why this is a very dangerous disorder if treatments are not using up-to-date techniques. For example how earlier studies that are commonly printed are based on improper treatments in previous years, like not keeping HCT at low enough levels.
Explain why the tables on the other sites are misleading. Why and how a person with polycythemia can live a full life.
